The 2017 Tri-Flake Winter triathlon is in the books and WOW, what a race. Thank you to everyone who came out to help and spectate and a HUGE contratulations to all who raced. We had around 12 inches of new snow overnight and in the morning before the race started. Surprisingly, we only had 3 solos and 1 team not show up and we had 4 solo racers show up and register on race morning. Out of all the starters, we only had one who didn't finish. Just shows how tough we are up here. A little snow isn't going to scare people away.
We are already looking forward to next year's race.
Race format will be run/bike/ski. The run will utilize the scenic Coastal Trail from the Kincaid Chalet for an out and back course of about 6k. The bike will take advantage of the multi-use trails along Raspberry and the STA singletrack trails throughout Kincaid for a course of around 8 miles. The ski will be freestyle format and utilize the world class Nordic ski trails in Kincaid Park for 2 laps of a 3k loop with a bonus 0.5k finish loop just for some fun at the end.
